FR. ALBERIONE CURED BY ST. PAUL THE APOSTLE
As we approach the beginning of the Novena to St. Paul (starts June 21 because the Pauline Family is granted their own feastday of St. Paul on June 30--no sharing with St. Peter! ha ha), I am at the point in writing the script where Fr. Alberione is cured from 100% fatal TB by St. Paul the Apostle. Fr. A was already in the sanitarium preparing for death.
Met a very depressed homeless man in the park while writing the script. His name is "Tim"--had a rosary around his neck. I told him that Timothy was a good friend of St. Paul. I told him I admired him for being able to make it on the streets and he said: "It's easy." I told him I wouldn't last a day.

WHEN FR. ALBERIONE STARTED THE FILM APOSTOLATE, 1937....
He looked for Fr. Robert Mozzachiodi and Father Aloysius Lenta, the two Paulines who passed as the most impassioned with regard to the cinema, and he said to them: "Let's go to the Basilica of St. Paul to pray for a very important grace." They went into the chapel of the Most Blessed Sacrament in the Basilica, where there were no kneelers or pews, knelt down on the marble pavement and remained there for more than an hour. "You can imagine the backache," Father Mozzachiodi wrote after having remained kneeling along side him for the whole time. The "very important grace" of which Alberione had spoken was the beginning of the apostolate of the cinema, as he was soon to reveal.

THE BLOG RE-LAUNCHES!
OK, folks--the film (and blog) launches in earnestness! I am now writing the script, due August 31! Big, fat prayers requested!
Recent goings-on regarding the film:
--Postcards made to advertise film/website/donations! (Want some? hburns@paulinemedia.com )
--Relevant Radio interview about "the making of" Alberione film: http://relevantradio.streamguys.us/Asx%20Files/MA%20Archive/MA20100506c.asx
--preview/trailer translated into Vietnamese! (other languages in the works!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VX8aG9NLqco
--someone donated a large flat-screen monitor to show trailer at conferences (first up: Illinois Catholic Prayer Breakfast)!
--Sr. Margaret Joseph & Sr. Margaret Charles will be coming to Chicago to help raise funds for the film at the end of May!
--Possible golf AND baseball (Cubs) fundraiser?
--Possible collaboration with dePaul University?
OK--no more puttering. Down to the writing (Alberione calls writing--with all its many forms--"the heart" of the mission of the SSP/FSP).
